What Scripture speaks to you about God's holiness???
Remember, that nothing motivates or moves God to be Holy... God's holiness is himself...it is what is called a part of his SELF-EXISTING BEING. How does that change the way you think about God?

I have to say that reading John 17:17 in the Message translation gave me a complete bright and new understanding of who God is and of His holiness! Taking the time to go between both NIV and Message brought new insight and understanding.

I find myself reflecting on the truth in John 17:11. As we are one with Him and therefore with the Father, then we are holy in Him. I am holy because of God's holiness, because of Christ's sacrifice on the cross.
I am holy? Would anyone know that? Do I incorporate that into my decision making processes every day. Do I think, "I am holy in Christ. How does this action/choice reflect this truth about me and therefore about God?"
Of course, then you think of the people who think they are "holier than thou" which turn people off every day.
How to be holy yet humble? How to choose holy and righteous paths for my life and not pour out judgement on others...hmmm..things to think about.
I can't wait to join the angels and seraphim and heavenly creatures in the song of heaven, "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty!" Those will be glorious days in eternal life.
I have to agree with Gabbie. I got alot more out of the scriptures after reading them in the message translation.
