God's goodness. He is only good. He does only good. He is only capable of doing good. There is nothing evil about God--there never has been and never will be. This is a concept that is sometimes difficult for us to wrap our minds around. When we read the book of Job or think of God destroying the earth with floods...saving only Noah and his family--how can that be good?
God's goodness incorporates his kindness and good will toward you and me. He is so good that "he gives all and receives nothing."
This goodness of God is reflected in his actions toward us...we look at Noah and see the destruction, but God's goodness is what provoked him to save one family so that human nature could continue. His mercy is an eternal quality rooted in His Goodness--and HE is the one who choses when to exercise that mercy. Through that goodness, God exercises patience with us, to grow and learn. He meets us where we are at...through his goodness. It is out of his goodness we are saved by grace through faith.
God also cares for the welfare of people. His goodness is sufficient for the needs of all of us. It is his goodness that provides our shelter and clothing, our food and heat and a/c. God cares.
God is good...all the time...all the time...God is good.

This week has been a true testimony of God's goodness in my life. My family and I have been living in one bedroom for the last 7 months. It has been my "valley". It took 5 months for my husband to find a job and then two months later we find out that he is laid off! But God is Good ALL THE TIME! To what many may seem as something devastating, my husband and I see God's goodness in it. He's walking us out of this valley. He's releasing to leave this area and begin life in a different area. GOD IS CERTAINLY GOOD ALL THE TIME!
